Why did Dr. Kazin create HairSanity for her patients?
HairSanity's creator, Dr. Rebecca Kazin, is a Johns Hopkins-trained Board Certified Dermatologist.
Throughout her career, Dr. Kazin was repeatedly approached by patients seeking to solve problems with dry or oily scalp, flaking and scalp itch. What active ingredients make HairSanity so safe and effective?
Step 1 of HairSanity contains hydrocortisone acetate which is the #1 ingredient for itch and irritation used by dermatologists worldwide in skin and scalp care.
The active ingredient in Step 2 is salicylic acid which has been a favorite for decades for the control of dry skin, flaking, and dandruff.
To get the most hydrated, frizz-free hair, we then added skincare quality ingredients to our patented blend of alp rose, oat kernel, green tea, willow bark, and sea whip extract.
Our cleansing agents are gentle on the hair and color and our products are not tested on animals and do not contain parabens or sulfates.

HairSanity addresses the scalp and the hair differently than other products on the market. Most drugstore products address the scalp with zinc pyrithione and many contain sulfates and parabens. We take a completely different approach and have eliminated zinc pyrithione, sulfates, and parabens. How soon will I see and feel my healthier scalp and hair?
We recommend using HairSanity every time you wash your hair. Most will see and feel results after a few washes, but the full effects are most noticeable after 4 weeks of consistent use at least 3 times per week.
Is HairSanity safe for sensitive skin?
Yes. By eliminating harsh surfactants, parabens, and allergenic preservatives, HairSanity can be used on sensitive skin and scalp.
How do I get the best results with HairSanity?
Simply apply a quarter-sized amount of HairSanity Step 1 to the top of the head and another quarter-sized amount to the sides of wet hair and scalp. Add additional water and cleanser for increased lather. Massage lather into scalp and rinse thoroughly with warm water. Use daily or a minimum of 3 times per week.
Follow up with HairSanity Step 2 by gently massaging HairSanity Step 2 into scalp and work through hair to the ends. Leave on 30 seconds for normal hair and 2-3 minutes for damaged and/or processed hair. Rinse with warm water, dry and style as usual.
For best results, we recommend that you use Step 2 every time you use Step One. Use both steps at least three times a week.
Is HairSanity gentle on color and keratin?
HairSanity does not use harsh surfactants (cleansers) to clean the hair as many drugstore shampoos do. Harsh surfactants can prematurely strip color and keratin from the hair.

How is HairSanity thoughtfully packaged?
HairSanity is a two-step system and both Step 1 and Step 2 come in tubes that are easy to open and close and stand up on end in the shower, bath or cabinet. A silver tab secures the product in the tube and will need to be removed before first use. Simply tear the tab away from the tube opening and discard the silver tab.
